Blood Orange @ History 11/19/25

Blood Orange brought the Essex Honey Tour to Toronto for two sold-out nights at History (November 19th and November 20th 2025). Blood Orange – also known as Dev Hynes – released his first album in 6 years, Essex Honey, on August 29th 2025.

Hynes delivered a stunning, multilayered performance that beautifully showcased his artistry. Backed by a band and two incredible vocalists, the set blended dreamy, atmospheric sounds and introspective lyrics with upbeat grooves that kept the crowd fully present in the moment. Hynes himself moved between instruments throughout the night, and at some points stepped back to play the keys while the two singers, Ian Isiah and Toronto’s own Eva Tolkin, took centre stage. The change in roles brought a dynamic, collaborative element to the performance which kept every song feeling fresh and exciting. Some fan favourite tracks from the set included Sutphin Boulevard and Champagne Coast.

Midway through the concert, Hynes reflected on touring and reflected on his time in Toronto, remarking that there hasn’t been too many Blood Orange shows, and that he played some solo shows in Toronto around 2010. His connection with the audience was warm and appreciative which only amplified the energy in the room. It’s safe to say fans have been waiting a long time for Hynes’ return to Toronto and he was greeted with an outpouring of cheers and excitement that carried throughout the entire night.

Blood Orange is set to continue the Essex Honey Tour with 6 nights at Brooklyn Steel in New York from November 29th to December 5th 2025. Learn more on the official website.
