SYHANN: Your last album postMANIC feels like a mix chaos and relfection, what does that title mean to you personally?

RICHIE: When we started this band, about a year in we almost didn’t last. I had a very severe manic episode that lasted a while, and thankfully [Reece] stuck by me. A lot of it was writing as that was happening and towards the end of it was when it was all coming together. The title was really about getting past that. A lot of the music is about that and I think the next album will be more of the reflection. (…) A lot of it was really personal to me just because of what we went through as a band that I put us through and it was a celebration of getting past that and still being a band.

SYHANN: Do you have a release set for the next album?

RICHIE: We just started the finishing touches on the next record. We don’t know exactly when it’s going to come out but definitely this year. This summer will be the first single and by the end of the year have a new record with a new tour. I like the direction of it, it’s building off of the first album. It’s more mature and has a bit more self-reflection.

SYHANN: Which track on the album represents you the most or the least right now?

RICHIE: For me, most is “sleepover“. I’m getting married this year, that’s out most love-y song and with the wedding coming up I’m really in my love mode. Least – “your apartment” which is funny because it’s my favourite song!

REECE: I dont know that in my personal life that I see myself in any of the songs – I love the entire album. I think my favourite song that I identify with no matter what is “talking to myself“. It’s the song that helped put some wind under our sails a little bit. I think I’m going to steal your answer, the one I identify the least with is “your apartment”.
