On Thursday night (March 12, 2026), New Zealand born alt-pop artist BENEE graced Toronto with her presence for a night at The Concert Hall on the Particles Tour, in support of her latest album, Ur an Angel I’m Just Particles. Blending bright pop melodies with a quirky, carefree charm, the performance showcased the energy and personality that has made her one of alt-pop’s most distinctive voices.
BAYLI opened the show effortlessly, commanding the stage with her confident presence. Her blend of alt-pop, r&b, and dance-driven tracks had the early crowd moving, creating an upbeat atmosphere that carried through the rest of the night. During her song “Passenger Princess”, she gifted a lucky fan in the crowd a tiara to crown them as the passenger princess for the night; this also started a trend for more hair accessories to be handed out to fans later in the night.
BENEE stepped on stage in her signature fuzzy boots and began her set with “Sad Boiii”, “Cinnamon”, and “Vegas”, all from Ur an Angel I’m Just Particles. Her stage presence was as vibrant as her music. She moved around radiating a light and playful energy – dancing between verses, laughing with the crowd, and bringing a sense of spontaneity that made the performance feel joyful and carefree. Her set included a majority of the songs off of Ur an Angel I’m Just Particles, and a mix of songs from the rest of her discography including “Soaked” from her EP FIRE ON MARZZZ and “Afterthought,” her collaboration with Joji.
A couple of songs in, BENEE explained to the crowd that she had picked up a hobby of making hair clips while being on the road and jumped off the stage to clip a few in fans’ hair, sending them home with an extra special souvenir from the night.
Of course, she played her hits “Supalonely” featuring Gus Dapperton and “Glitter”, both of which blew up online and on TikTok in 2020 during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. The crowd cheered when the unmistakable opening of “Supalonely” began and danced under rainbow-coloured lights, perhaps feeling a strange sense of nostalgia for being online during that time.
Before her last song, fans started screaming “island! play island!”, demanding she play her track “Find an Island” from her 2019 EP STELLA & STEVE. She laughed and said “respectfully, that’s not on the setlist,” but the crowd was not willing to let up and continued the chant. Eventually, she gave in and sang a snippet of the chorus with the crowd which was a delight, especially as a fan of the song.
The energy of the set was arguably its highest during the last song. As BENEE sang the first lines of “Green Honda,” the crowd lost their minds, jumping and screaming the lyrics right back to her. With fans singing and dancing through the final moments, the performance wrapped up exactly as it had unfolded – joyful, vibrant, and impossible not to get swept up in.
