SINGLE REVIEW – Changing by Kevin Jonas

In August 2025 at Boston’s Fenway Park, Kevin Jonas showed the world his first unreleased single, “Changing,” and that he can sing alongside his brothers and on his own. For years, Kevin Jonas was considered part of the Jonas Brothers band as a supporting member, mostly stuck with background vocals while his brothers alternated being in the spotlight, despite the band being named for their namesake and brotherhood.

After years of finding his voice in music, “Changing” was released a few months after its initial debut, on November 20th 2025.

The song talks about themes of home, familiarity and being conditioned in “same old conversations.” However, the song’s irony stems from how the only consistent thing in life is change and feeling yourself change. The song’s meaning is also symbolic of Kevin finally revealing himself to the world through his voice, both lyrically and sonically. Kevin sings, “I try, but can’t explain / I’d die if I stayed the same forever,” where the uneasiness of change but the importance of embracing it is echoed in the song. Built on steady percussion and warm chord work, and a bridge with a more grungy guitar to a catchy melody, the song connects with its listeners in multiple ways rather than one single avenue of change and feeling oneself change too.
