Here are our picks for May 15th, 2026:
one’n a million – Arcy Drive
NY-based, rising indie rock band Arcy Drive is back with their Atlantic Records debut single, “one’n a million.” About the song, the band shares: “We made this song a little over a year ago. [In the studio session,] we played off pure instinct, and it worked. In 4 hours, we came out with a pretty solid song and then honestly forgot about it. We were on to the next song. It wasn’t until a couple of months ago that this song was brought back into our lives, and the first time hearing it again, we thought, ‘this is a fucking banger.’ It’s crazy how, when you’re so in it, you truly cannot take yourself out of your creations. But that full year of time away from the song, it felt refreshing again. Like we were really hearing the song for the first time. We like to think it’s another side of the band that we haven’t shown yet. A more relaxed summer vibe, but we still punkify it at the end, which makes it feel originally ours.” Listen HERE.
Blue Eyes – Common People
Los Angeles-based indie rockers Common People unpack the highs and lows of a relationship on fuzzy new single “Blue Eyes” – out now via Parallel Vision/Big Loud Rock. Produced by Cage The Elephant’s Brad Shultz, the hazy track captures the moment rose-colored glasses begin to crack in a relationship, with distorted basslines mirroring the steady unraveling of emotions. The accompanying music video finds the band experiencing the same emotional push-and-pull through a whimsical lens.
“Blue Eyes” is the song that kind of started this whole thing. It was our first time working with Brad and seeing what we could do together,” shared lead vocalist Nicky Winegardner. “There’s an innocence to the song that comes from where I was when I started writing it. Making sense of what love does to you and means to you feels like a shared experience of youth. It can feel good to realize that something is actually bad.” Listen HERE.
No Lie – DD Island
DD Island blends old-school cosmic Americana with contemporary indie rock. “No Lie” serves as the latest preview of the band’s forthcoming debut album Setting Sun, out July 10, 2026. Though DD Island initially began as a recording project for songwriter and producer Brandon Rhodes, the group evolved into a fully collaborative effort through the chemistry and creative contributions of all four musicians (Andrew Stader, Jeremy Batt, Zach Litchman). That transformation can be heard throughout Setting Sun, as Rhodes’ earlier psych-rock explorations expanded into a richer, more intentional sound rooted in collaboration and life on the road. Much of Setting Sun was written while gigging throughout New York City and traveling together in their van, “Betty.” With each member contributing distinct songwriting perspectives, the album captures a dynamic and collective vision that reflects the band’s growth both onstage and off.
